Poem - Uncouple

Uncouple

All the love

That once you felt

Does it go somewhere

Or dissipate

Like tears in rain

Or sometimes change

To something else

To hate or anger

Sadness or despair

Or maybe apathy or disappointment

It would be nice to think

That we would still be able

To hold on to the good things

The happy memories and joint achievements

So shall we grieve

For all that we have lost

Left with a feeling of resentment

For time and energy expended

Or do our best

To think of all the good and not the bad

It will be a victory

If I can think of you

And smile
